FLL Ontario CITY SHAPER Season Kick-off and Training Event

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, Ctrl-Z presented to many new and returning teams (over 300 attendees) at the FLL CITY SHAPER Season Kick-off and Training Event hosted at Bayview Glen School. There, the team refreshed and helped improve many enthusiasts' building, programming, and research skills. It shared various concepts, from introductory to advanced, to help other teams make the best of this year’s season.

Presenting at the St. Mildred's SWATposium

On Saturday, November 2, 2019, Ctrl-Z presented a variety of programming courses at the annual SWATposium, hosted by St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School. Ctrl-Z presented three stages of programming: Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced to over 80 attendees. These sessions helped the FLL teams attending learn programs that would prove to be very useful for their upcoming competitions.

Bayview Glen Team Sharing Event

On November 17, 2019, Ctrl-Z spent the afternoon with the 4 other Bayview Glen FLL teams to share practices which the team found beneficial this CITY SHAPERS season. We explained how programming the EV3 robot in Python was very efficient and fun, how using slow motion video can be used to debug code and troubleshoot the base robot and attachments and how certain team building activities can improve team alertness and enthusiasm prior to meetings and presentations. Thank you to our fellow BVG teams for sharing both their best practices and their progress this season.

Officiating the FLL Regional Qualifiying Tournament at Bayview Glen

On November 30, 2019, Ctrl-Z helped organize and host the FLL Regional Qualifying Tournament at Bayview Glen. There, the team acted as referees and field resetters for the robot game, as well as team liaisons to help guide the teams to their judging sessions and robot game matches. We also taught our intermediate programming session during the lunch hours, which taught many teams information on how to use their EV3 Colour Sensors accurately.

Bay Street Welcomes Ctrl-Z!

On January 23, 2020 Ctrl-Z Bayview Glen was invited to the 2nd annual Canaccord Genuity Capital Markets Artificial Intelligence Conference Day held at its Toronto office in Brookfield Place. The conference provided an opportunity for investors to evaluate opportunities in the nascent AI industry. Ctrl-Z presented its autonomous robot and its SPOT SAVER innovative solution to over 150 technology and finance industry attendees over the course of the day to promote both STEM education and FIRST Robotics.
